The Great Old Ones are a group of unique, malignant beings of great power.

Forces and beings of immense power and terror, unfathomable in their cruelty and alien in the truest sense of the word.[1] It is unclear whether Great Old Ones are all immortal; at least one, the King in Yellow, was referred to as mortal by another possible Great Old One, Kayne.[2] There is certainly a sense of hierarchy between them, as Kayne sees himself as above the King in Yellow. There is also hinted to be some kind of relation between these entities that Kayne likens to familial relationships, referring to Shub-Niggurath as a "cousin", and refers to his daughter.[3]
